Fuji Rock Festival

Fuji Rock Festival

Yuzawa, Japan · July

About

Fuji Rock Festival is Japan's largest outdoor music festival and one of the most beautiful festival settings in the world. Held at the Naeba Ski Resort in Yuzawa, Niigata Prefecture, the festival is nestled in forested mountains with stages connected by boardwalks through the woods. Despite its name, Fuji Rock hasn't been held near Mount Fuji since its inaugural year in 1997 (a typhoon forced a venue change). The three-day festival draws around 40,000 attendees and features an international lineup spanning rock, electronic, world, and folk music. Fuji Rock is renowned for its exceptionally clean grounds — Japanese festival culture emphasizes leaving no trace — and its uniquely serene, nature-immersed atmosphere.
