Sziget Festival

About

Sziget Festival is one of Europe's largest and most diverse cultural festivals, held on Óbudai-sziget (Old Buda Island) in the Danube River in Budapest, Hungary. Running for a full week each August, Sziget attracts over 100,000 attendees — more than half from outside Hungary — creating one of Europe's most international festival crowds. Beyond its impressive music lineup spanning rock, pop, electronic, hip-hop, and world music, Sziget offers theatre, art installations, circus performances, workshops, film screenings, and a dedicated beach along the Danube. The island setting gives the festival a unique utopian atmosphere, earning it the nickname 'Island of Freedom.' Past headliners include Foo Fighters, Arctic Monkeys, Florence + The Machine, and Ed Sheeran.
